Rapper Kanye West has started the New Year with a bang. The rapper recently released a surprise song and a new set of guidelines for his wife, Kim Kardashian. According to recent reports, West seems to have full control of every aspect of his popular reality star wife's life and is the reason behind her subtle transformation to a more sophisticated persona.

Life & Style has reported that rapper West has started governing his wife's life very closely. He has reportedly instructed her to not wear any make up at home and to never contact any of her former flames. The rapper also reportedly keeps tab of the people his wife went out with. The tabloid is even claiming that the rapper has a new list of rules for his 34-year-old wife, which include no more spin-off series with her sisters Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian.

West is reportedly not a fan of a made up face and prefers to keep things natural. "When she does go out, he insists she tone it down," shares an insider to the tabloid. "He wants her to show their daughter, North, that natural is beautiful."

The rapper is also reportedly known for his distaste of reality shows and constant camera glare. As reported earlier, West wanted to distance himself and his family from Kardashian's mother, Kris Jenner, and her annual Christmas celebrations. The rapper wanted to take his wife and 18-month-old daughter away to Paris for the festive celebrations, so they could spend some time alone away from Jenner's reportedly over-crowded party.

Meanwhile, West has released a surprise song in collaboration with Paul McCartney. It was reported earlier that West and McCartney were working together on a song, but this single's Jan. 1 release came as a surprise. The song features McCartney on the keyboard, while West took charge of the lyrics. The song is dedicated to West's late mother, Donda West, who died in 2007.

Boston.com reports that the song is searing, soulful and heart breaking at the same time and is quite a surprise as West has shown a new never-seen-before tender side of his personality through its lyrics. 'Only One' is available exclusively on iTunes. The song has reportedly began trending on the Internet and is deemed as a sentimental and emotional number, which ends with with a heart wrenching plea: "Tell Nori about me," referring to West's daughter, North West.
