While the drama between Scott Disick and Kourtney Karadshian unfolded over the July fourth weekend, with the two allegedly splitting up, their children were reportedly cared for by their aunt Kim Kardasian and uncle Kanye West. Kanye in particular, is said to be the model father figure for Mason on that weekend, taking him aboard a yacht.

Page Six reports that Kanye West took his uncle duties seriously over the July fourth weekend. Over the weekend, Kourtney reportedly dumped her partner of nine years, Scott, who allegedly got real cozy with his ex-girlfriend Chloe Bartoli in the South of France. While the drama unfolded, Kanye took Mason to New York to spend Fourth of July on a yacht. The yacht is owned by Kanye's friends, J.R. and Loren Ridinger. Aboard the yacht were former NBA star Scottie Pippen, wife Larsa, as well as daughter Sophia. Kanye was a doting uncle that day, taking both Mason and Sophia to the movies, the source added. On the other hand, Kim Kardashian and Larsa had lunch at Cipriani, the source detailed.

The aunt and uncle may have to take over as parents during the weekend, but the reason behind the split is allegedly for the kids in the first place. While it seems that the main reason why Kourtney and Scott are calling it quits now after putting up with each other for nine years is Scott getting cozy with his ex girlfriend Chloe Bartoli in Mote Carlo, People magazine reports that Kourtney dumped Scott because his partying and drinking are making him an irresponsible father.

"She was over dealing with his constant lies and addictions,” shared a source close to the Kardashian family. "It was becoming a poor environment for the kids to be raised in, and she refused to let that be the case,” the source explained. The source added that Kourtney would always put her children first.

Since Disick’s struggle to combat his substance abuse issues had been well documented on the Kardashian’s reality show, “Keeping Up with the Karadshians,” the news was not much of a surprise. Another insider told People magazine that Scott usually drinks too much and embarrasses Kourtney. The problem is that Scott is even rebelling against the responsibility of being a dad to three kids and Kourtney had to take it over for everything related to their kids. Fed up with Scott’s immaturity as a dad, the source explained that Kim Karadshian’s sister is “willing to sacrifice her relationship with Scott” so that her kids would stay safe because they are her first priority. “She needs to protect herself and her family, so she knows this is the right decision,” said the source.
