Kanye West will be back at the MTV Video Music Awards. Whose win will he spoil this year?

West tweeted that he has been invited back to the awards show, in spite of his microphone-grabbing antics last year. The singer was condemned for his behavior at the 2009 awards, when he interrupted Taylor Swift as she collected her statuette for best female video. West told Swift that Beyonce, not Swift, should have won the award. Later, US President Barrack Obama called him a ''jackass''.

The rapper announced that he is in talks with MTV VMA organisers for a planned performance in the ceremony. The awards will be held in Los Angeles on September 12.

"Just met with MTV and it's about to go down! VMA's!" West said via his Twitter account to more than 600, 000 followers. West's new collaboration with Beyonce was announced this week, a single titled See Me Now.

Last week, MTV released a statement stating West would take the stage at the annual awards show "and fans will be glued to the screen to see what the rapper has in store for the audience".

Florence + The Machine are also expected to perform at the VMAs next month, where pop star Lady Gaga looks is nominated for a record 13 awards. Rapper Eminem is up for nine.
