Kanye West is now contemplating venturing out of the music industry and trying his hand at acting. ANI reported that the 37-year-old American rapper is currently looking for a good role in a comedy film.

He had earlier played a small part in Will Ferrell's comedy sequel 'Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues'. After the stunt, he again wants to go back to the movie scene, but aims to land a full-fledged role.

"Kanye's dream is to star in a laugh-out-loud hit like Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy," reveals a source to OK! Magazine. "He's told his agent to find him a role in a big comedy, but so far no one is interested."

This is not the first time the Grammy award winning rapper has shown interest in acting. As reported by Gawker, he auditioned for a cameo in another Will Ferrell flicks, Semi-Pro, in 2006. However, he failed to get the role, which was then given to Andre Benjamin, a.k.a, Andre 3000. The director debunked all of the rumours regarding Kanye's lack of talent in the acting department by labelling the rapper's performance 'great' while on set.

Kanye wants to expand his domain by trying to go outside the music world to establish a career in acting, taking special interest in the genre of comedy. He has been recognized as one of the world's bestselling artists of present times, having sold more than 21 million album copies and 65 million digital records.

Kim Kardashian's husband of almost four months is also the most awarded artist of his generation, garnering 21 Grammy awards under his belt. Time magazine has even named him as one of the 100 most influential people in the world.

After a series of failed relationships, the rapper started dating long-time friend Kim Kardashian in April 2012. The couple has a daughter together named North West, who was born in June 2013.

As reported by ANI, West has even prepared a CV to get the role of his choice. He has included his short role in Anchorman 2, TV show Entourage and a small role in 'Love Guru'.
