Former American Idol judge Kara DioGuardi has revealed in her memoir details of molestation she experienced as a child and the date rape she faced as an adult.

The 40-year old song writer, who stars in the upcoming songwriting competition series "Platinum Hit," shared her life in her memoir titled, "A Helluva High Note: Surviving Life, Love, and 'American Idol” set for release on April 26.

In the book, the Grammy winner recounted how the son of a family friend molested her when she was 11.

"On one particular day, he took me into the back shed of his house and put his hands all over my breasts and vagina," DioGuardi said in the book, according to Reuters.

Describing what was going on through her head in the situation, she noted "I remember freezing and not knowing what to do."

Just when she thought that her nightmare was over, she was faced with another incident of sex abuse when she was 30 years old, emphasizing that more pain rocked her world when date-raped in 2000 by what she described as a “fairly known producer”.

The “Idol” judge noted in her memoir that the date-rape began with what she thought was a friendly dinner.

She wrote: "...He was on top of me, pumping, sweating and speaking to me in Spanish, not a word of which I could understand."

A few years later, the songwriter described how a “hugely successful” artist forced her to touch his crotch while she was working with him in his home.

She said that she was sent to work with the artists for three days, revealing that the “songwriting trip” forced her to walk out when the artist made his sexual advances.

DioGuardi said, according to Reuters, "the trip's activities consisted of watching Russian porn, scavenging around the kitchen for food (and) leering at two strippers ... as they performed sex acts in the living room."

The former “Idol” judge joins Jewel in the upcoming songwriting competition, “Platinum Hit” which debuts on May 30.
