Legendary designers Karl Lagerfeld and Valentino have dropped in their two cents regarding Kate Middleton's royal style, and both have differing (and shocking) opinions.

Retired Italian designer Valentino Garavani is known as one of the most celebrated designers of all time, with countless dresses worn by the most important females in the world. Valentino's dresses are red carpet staples, and Hollywood divas literally fight for each of his creations. Being more than qualified to critique the Duchess' sense of style, the designer focused on Kate's head rather than her closet. "She has to do something with this long hair because that is very important," says the designer in a post by NYmag.com. "To be a future queen, she can't keep her hair this long."

Meanwhile, German pop culture icon and designer Karl Lagerfeld has something else to say on the Duchess' personality and clothes. "For the royals, apparently the royal blood is not in demand any longer. Better for the generation to come" says the celebrated designer in the same NYmag post. "She is very different from Princess Diana, and seems a very well-balanced and a happy person" the designer continues. Lagerfeld concluded his statement by saying how beautiful and elegant the Duchess is. "She is chic in a way the position needs. Let's wait and see".
