Kate Beckinsale and Len Wiseman are getting a divorce: 'Underworld' director worried about his 17-year-old stepdaughter
Kate Beckinsale and her husband of 12 years, Len Wiseman, have decided to split and have already filed the divorce papers. The two separated almost a year ago, though the former couple still spend time together when the actress is in Los Angeles.
According to E! News, Wiseman made it official when he filed the papers, which stated “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the divorce. Both of their busy schedules left little time for them to actually be a couple, so the two decided to take their separate ways. However, the two are apparently still friendly and see each other amicably.
Neither Beckinsale nor Wiseman is looking for any spousal support.

The months that have led up to their divorce have been harmonious and without drama. “It’s just not Kate’s style,” a source previously told People Magazine. “They have both had complicated schedules and have grown apart.”
The two do not have any children together, but Wiseman’s apparent main concern in all of this is Lily Mo, whom Beckinsale had with Michael Sheen. “[Wiseman] loves his stepdaughter and is there for her,” another source told the publication.
Beckinsale did consider having children with Wiseman but admitted in a 2012 issue of Glamour Magazine UK that she also had her doubts. “There’s absolutely part of me that goes, ‘I’d love to have a baby in the relationship I’m in and have that experience when the relationship’s really good and exclusive,’” she told the publication. “But I’m just not sure.”

Beckinsale met Wiseman in 2003 when the two were working on the set of “Underworld.” Roughly a year later, Wiseman proposed at the presidential suite of the Viceroy Hotel in Santa Monica. The room was filled with lilies, which are Beckinsale’s favourite flowers. On May 9, 2004, the two were married.
