Kate Middleton Beaten By Grace Kelly: Princess Of Monaco Tops The Most Stylish Bride List
Grace Kelly has reportedly beaten Kate Middleton in the most stylish bride race. In a recent poll conducted by Conde Nast Brides magazine, Kelly has topped the list of the most stylish brides, pushing Middleton to the second place.
On her wedding day, Kelly wore a beautiful gown with an intricate lace design. Kelly got married to Prince Rainer III in 1958 and instantly became an international style icon, as per the reports by Express.
Interestingly, Middleton's wedding dress was inspired from Kelly's wedding couture. Middleton, who got married to Prince William in April 29, 2011, wore a stunning Alexander McQueen gown. According to Express, Middleton's gown bore a heavy resemblance to Kelly's gown. The gown was designed by creative director Sarah Burton but unlike Kelly's high neck design, it featured a sweetheart neckline. Other celebrities who made the list of most stylish brides are Elizabeth Taylor, Priscilla Presley, Mia Farrow, Princess Annie, Queen Elizabeth 2, Katie Holmes, and Bianca Jagger.
Meanwhile, there is another celebrity who has up the ante in the fashion industry with her impeccable wedding couture--George Clooney's wife Amal Alamuddin. She was lauded for her exquisite fashion sense when she got married in an Oscar de La Renta wedding gown. Amal wore de La Renta's white tulle ball gown with a long veil.
"George and I wanted a wedding that was romantic and elegant, and I can't imagine anyone more able than Oscar to capture this mood in a dress," the bride told Vogue magazine. "Meeting him made the design process all the more magical, as he is so warm and such a gentleman."
Amal is being considered a major force in fashion. Reportedly she is set to give Middleton a tough competition in the style category.
Middleton is currently pregnant with her second child. The palace announced the news of her pregnancy last month. Middleton is already a mother to one-year-old Prince George.
