Kate Middleton Channels Princess Diana in Polka-Dot Dress
Opting for one of her go-to designers, Kate looked very lovely on the steps. It's such a sweet gesture that Kate wore polka dots for her first official appearance after giving birth, especially since Princess Diana also wore a polka dot dress when she stood on the exact same steps 31 years ago with Prince William in her arms.
A source told HollywooLife that The Ducchess is indeed wearing bespoke Jenny Packham. It was specifically designed for Kate so there is no price tag yet on the dress. There are also no plans yet to recreate the pretty dress at this time.
She also wore her blue engagement ring. Truly, everything was such a nice tribute to Prince William's late mother! Prince William wore wore a blue striped shirt which matched his wife's outfit. The two have honoured Princess Diana with the dress and ring, perhaps, the name of the royal baby will be a tribute to Princess Diana as well.
Despite the fact that Kate had just given birth yesterday, she looked so chic at the steps before ducking into a Range Rover and driving off with her husband and baby.
Blast from the Past
Princess Diana posed for pictures with her newborn baby, Prince William in 1982, just days after giving birth. Princess D donned a green and white polka dot frock that flowed around her figure. The dress featured a low collar and had a loose bow tied at the neckline. She finished off her ensemble with a pair of comfortable yet stylish burgundy ballet flats.
Similar to Princess Diana and husband Prince Charles, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge took turns holding their son. Prince William weight 7 lbs., 1.5 oz. at birth, while his baby boy weighed 8 lbs., 6 oz.
