Kate Middleton to Choose Design Student to Make Shoes [PHOTOS]
It's every designer's dream to create clothes and accessories for the world's hottest fashion icon, Kate Middleton. One lucky design student will have this chance if chosen by The Duchess to create shoes for her.
The Duchess of Cambridge will choose one lucky design student to make her a pair of shoes to wear for the Jubilee celebrations. Middleton will select a winner from a six finalists from De Montford University (DMU) at Leicester.
The finalists have been narrowed down from a pool of 100 students, and the winner gets to jumpstart his or her fashion career by designing for today's most important fashion icon.
"When asked who their first commission was for at their first job interview they will be able to reply - the Duchess of Cambridge, the world's leading fashion icon" says Professo rDominic Shellard, De Motford University's Vice-Chancellor.
It is said that the Duchess will meet all six finalists and announce her pick afterwards. The winner will instantly work on a commissioned design to be worn in one of the Jubilee celebration events.
Because the competition is said to border on the cutting edge and modern, the lucky winner will have to adjust to the Duchess' sense of style without changing her signature 'classy look.' The Duchess is known to wear her favorite LK Bennet nude pumps, and it will be delightful to see Middleton step out in a more versatile pair of shoes.
