The Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton dazzled in a regal attire by costume designer Jenny Packham state reception at Government House in Wellington, New Zealand, Thursday. Prince George mother wore the black dress with open tresses and minimal makeup. The dress had a swing skirt and a silver fern on her shoulder, which represents the county's emblem. She completed her look with black pumps and a black clutch.

The royal couple was at the event to unveil the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by local artist Nick Cuthell.

On one hand while Middleton dazzled, Prince William gave a speech describing New Zealand as a country which is not only beautiful but has offered genuine warmth to his grandmother.

"New Zealand is very special to me personally," he told the crowd, adding, "Thank you also for hosting Catherine, George and me during our time in New Zealand, " reported E!

Prince George did not accompany the couple on their reception and was with his nanny Maria Teresa Turrion Borrallo. Regarding the little one, Prince William said, "I swear I heard him doing the haka this morning. I hope that George doesn't keep you up! He's a bonny lad and you'll be pleased to know that he's currently preparing for life as a prop forward!"

Meanwhile, Middleton again made the headlines for sipping on water instead of customary wine toast. This once again ripened the rumors that she is expecting a second child.

A few weeks ago numerous publications have reported that Middleton has gone on a special diet for her second child who could be twins and by sipping on water she has once again fuelled such rumours.

However, during St Patriarch's day Parade, Prince William had denied the pregnancy rumors suggesting that right now she is busy nurturing Prince George and will think of the next baby when the right time comes.
