Kate Middleton is back from a holiday with baby George and is looking great and tanned. The mother to 6-month-old George was back to her royal duties immediately after spending some time with her infant. The Duchess of Cambridge, Catherine, was present at the National Portrait Gallery event in London on Tuesday night and looked glamorous.
Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge, looked her best at the gala event where she chose to wear a midnight blue floor-length flowing gown by British designer Jenny Packham. According to Daily Mail, the off-shoulder gown, which is from Packham's Autumn Winter 2013 collection, suited the Duchess and she looked stunning.
The Duchess teamed the silk gown with a black velvet belt and a stunning huge diamond necklace. According to the gossip Web site, Kate's sparkly diamond necklace has a bit of history. It was a gift from the Nizam of Hyderabad to Queen Elizabeth II and has 38 rows of Cartier's diamonds.
"I just wanted to say how delighted I am to be here this evening to celebrate the fantastic work of The National Portrait Gallery. The Gallery's achievements are exceptional. They hold the most extensive collection of portraits in the world, and their unique and brilliant exhibitions never fail to inspire us all," said the Duchess, who has been chosen as the patron of the Gallery.
"I simply could not be more proud to be its Patron," she added, reports the Web site.
The event was attended by photographer David Bailey, Olympic Gold medallist Katherine Grainger, transvestite potter Grayson Perry, actor Alan Rickman and artist Jonathan Yeo.
More glam factor was added by actress Liz Hurley who looked stunning in her shimmery gown and fur shawl. The actress posed for pictures with the other guests.
Meanwhile Kate's other assignments begin in April where she will be taking little Prince George on his first ever trip to Australia and New Zealand. There was news in the media that Kate has been advised by the Queen to wear long skirts, tiaras and more jewelry for the tour.
