Australian radio personalities Mel Greig and Michael Christian got themselves in a tight fix after making a prank call to the London hospital where the Duchess of Cambridge is hospitalised for severe morning sickness related to her pregnancy.

The two radio hosts Ms Greig and Mr. Christian impersonated the voices of British royalty Prince Charles and Queen Elizabeth II and had gotten a reply from the nursing staff of the King Edward VII hospital in London.

Although the Australia radio station apologised for what the two radio show hosts did, the broadcasting media outfit uploaded the conversation and interview on their website to generate an audience.

According to reports from the Associated Press, the nursing staff of King Edward VII hospital is now being investigated as well for the seemed-lax protocols on patient's records and diagnosis.

The prank call generated the media's much-needed "juicy" details into the raved royal pregnancy of the Duchess of Cambridge married to the heir to the throne, Prince William.

The conversation with the nurse indicated that Kate Middleton has been under medication and had been sleeping soundly.

"She's sleeping at the moment and she has had an uneventful night. She's been given some fluids. She's stable at the moment," the nursing staff informed the radio hosts during the recorded interview.
