The gender of Kate Middleton's baby is out. It seems like she's not having twins, as previous reports claimed.

The Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton is having a girl, based on an ultrasound she had on her 12-week checkup. This, according to a tabloid report on Thursday. According to the National Enquirer (as reported by the Epoch Times), the ultrasound of the Duchess during her 12-week checkup with Dr. Alan Farthing, the royal physician, showed that she'll be having a girl. Aside from the ultrasound results, the gender of the baby is allegedly confirmed by a prenatal DNA test. The royal couple could not be happier, a source told the publication.

While the tabloid magazine's claims should be taken with a grain of salt, it could also be recalled that the tabloid had been behind some of the incredulous stories turned true. It was the first publication to break the story on John Edwards affair scandal a few years back.

Jessica Hay was also quoted on National Enquirer, who is supposedly Kate Middleton's close childhood friend. "William and Kate had talked endlessly about how they'd love to have a little girl," she allegedly said. The friend also shared that they were originally planning not to know the gender of the baby until Kate gives birth so that there would be an element of surprise.

Two days ago, the news of Kate having twins increasingly solidified when Woman's Day cited Star Magazine's report that two tiny human beings appeared on the screen during the Duchess's ultrasound. The report claimed that the Kate was so pleasantly surprised that she even squealed. These contrasting reports on the results of the ultrasound shows how excited people really are of the second royal baby. There were even all sorts of bets on the royal baby being made, until betting has been suspended.

Meanwhile the tabloid magazine also said that Kate's morning sickness is so bad on this second pregnancy that she collaposed on the floor recently. No specific date was given, but the magazine said a doctor on call rushed to Kate's assistance, and then she was brought to a medical facility located only 20 minutes away. Even though the checkup revealed Kate and the baby insider her are fine, Prince William had a real scare and therefore, does not want Kate doing things or wandering around alone.

"William has ordered that Kate be watched closely. She's back on her feet, but she's not 100 percent," the source shared. Despite the smiles she's showing and the excitement in the palace on the impending arrival of the second royal baby, Mirror magazine corroborated the difficulties Kate has been experiencing with this second baby. Kate reportedly told the wife of Singapore's president that she would love to get out of the house soon after her bouts of morning sickness are over.
