Kate Middleton Pregnancy Update: Duchess' Sickness Over, Shows Off Healthy Glow In A Black Lace Gown At Royal Variety Gala
Kate Middleton dressed her tiny baby bump in the black Diane von Furstenberg gown for the Royal Variety gala on Nov. 13. In the elegant lace gown, the Duchess of Cambridge looked healthy and graceful. She walked on the red carpet with Prince William, who was dressed in a black tuxedo. She teamed her attire with glittery diamond hoops and a black sequin clutch. She wore her hair in a simple chignon style.
Prince George's mother dress highlighted her tall frame. Also, the three-quarter length sheer lace sleeves added the touch of glamour to the look. Her make-up consisted of signature heavy eyeliner and nude lips.
The royal couple attended the musical gala for the first time. The event is held every year for the benefit of Entertainment Artistes' Benevolent Fund. They represented Queen Elizabeth II, who is the patron of this fund. At the venue, the pregnant Duchess and Prince William were greeted by the "One Direction" band members, including Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan and Liam Payne.
This is the second time Middleton has stepped out to attend a formal event after the official announcement about her second pregnancy. On Oct. 21, she attended the 50th Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition at the Natural History Museum in London. She wore a powder blue Jenny Packham gown, featuring a slit.
Fashion critics are reportedly impressed by the Duchess' maternity style. According to Vanity Fair report, the 32-year-old royal has been sporting edgier dressing style and the credit for this goes to her new P.A. turned stylist Natasha Archer. Archer is said to be the one who is picking exclusive dresses, with shorter hemlines, for the Duchess of Cambridge. She has persuaded Middleton to shun her conservative dressing style.
"Initially Kate was a reluctant fashion icon, but now she enjoys it. She shops a lot for Kate online, and calls in hundreds of dresses for Kate to try on," a source said.
Middleton's second pregnancy was announced on Sept. 8. She suffered from severe morning sickness in her first trimester, but is said to be recovering now. The arrival of second royal baby is expected in April 2015. Prince William and Middleton are already parents to 18-months-old Prince George.
