Prince Charles recently expressed his delight over having a second grandchild. However, a report claims he was slammed by a British journalist for his preference for a girl this time for Kate Middleton and Prince William' second baby.

According to People, Prince Charles claimed it's wonderful to have another royal baby in the family.

"I'm happy I'm going to be a grandfather again. I'm looking forward to it," he said.

However, his statement on wanting a girl for a grandchild reportedly sparked controversy whereas it was supposedly expected and normal, according to Inquisitr. The site claims a self-proclaimed feminist and British journalist named Angela Neustatter was apparently bothered by Prince Charles' statement. The mother of two boys took to The Guardian on Wednesday to express her argument over Prince Charles' preference for a baby girl.

In her article titled "Gender agendas: why Prince Charles shouldn't wish for a granddaughter," Angela asked the Prince to rephrase his statement regarding the gender of Kate Middleton and Prince William's second child.

"Let me bid you rephrase your wish to something like: 'I long for a healthy, happy, second grandchild,'" Angela wrote.

She claimed Prince Charles' statement is not something to be taken lightly. Since he is of the royal family, she said an expression of preference from a senior royal member "tends to be hugely influential."

When the Prince of Wales expressed his desire for a granddaughter from Kate Middleton and Prince William, he reportedly created "a gender meritocracy for the masses." The British journalist claimed it's vital for any society to treat girls and boys both with equal value.

However, Prince Charles' preference for girl babies is reportedly nothing new. In his 1992 book "Diana, Her True Story," biographer Andrew Morton revealed that the Prince of Wales have always wanted a baby girl. According to People, Princess Diana told Morton that Prince Charles wanted two children and wished that one of them was a girl.

"I knew Harry was a boy and I didn't tell him," Diana told Morton.

Regardless of the second baby's gender, some fans of Kate Middleton and Prince William wish nothing more but the speedy recovery of the Duchess of Cambridge. Kate Middleton is reportedly still recovering from hyperemesis Gravidarum (severe pregnancy sickness causing non-stop vomiting) in Kensington Palace.

@VanityFair after this baby, she should not have any more. The difficulties with morning sickness concern me greatly for her well-being — Denise (@NVGhost005) September 10, 2014

Also, I wish #katemiddleton a speedy recovery from morning sickness.
