The royals seemed to love Cheryl Cole's performance in the Diamond Jubilee despite criticisms to the singer's act.

British prime singer Cheryl Cole is one of the highly anticipated acts in the Diamond Jubilee celebrated this year. The 28-year-old singer arrived dressed in her glamorous black strapless gown with a tail. She accentuated her look with smoky eyes and very neat ponytail. She stopped and posed beside military men guarding the Buckingham Palace.

Prince Harry and the Duke and Duchess of Cambrdige were at the balcony beaming at the performance. Kate Middleton was seen waving her British flag with plenty of enthusiasm.

Cheryl Cole sang a duet with Gary Barlow. They delivered a rendition of country song "Need You Now" by Lady Antebellum. However, a lot of the audience felt underwhelmed with her performance.

The ballad is a departure from Cheryl's usual dance tracks that require less vocal range.

'After watching The Queen's Jubilee, I've come to the conclusion that Cheryl Cole couldn't carry a tune if it had a bloody handle,' one of the audience tweeted.

'Wow is she an awful singer, talentless,' said another.

The tweets keep coming criticizing the singer.

'Cheryl Cole has the voice of an angel. It's a little known fact that angels actually sound like a drunken version of Bjork when they sing.'

'No offense to Cheryl Cole at all, but she has taken an absolutely amazing country song by Lady Antebellum and ruined it.'

12,000 people gather at The Mall in London for the Diamond Jubilee concert to celebrate the Queen's 60th year on the throne.
