Kate Middleton And Prince William's USA Visit Announcement Sparks TV Bidding War
With the confirmation of the news regarding the upcoming visit to the United State of the Duchess and Prince Williams, television channels have been competing against each other to bag an exclusive interview or chat session with the royal couple.
America's top chat shows, TODAY and Good Morning America, are battling with each other to score an exclusive interview with the expecting couple, as reported by the Mirror. Both of these shows are aired in the morning and are among the most popular breakfast shows.
The Royals are expected for a three-day trip to the U.S. to announce a new wildlife charity. Princess Kate Middleton will accompany Prince William on this much awaited trip to foreign shores as her last planned trip to Malta had to be cancelled due to severe morning sickness. The Princess is in the second trimester of her pregnancy and has now recovered from the unsettling symptoms.
Both Today and Good Morning America are in the race to bag the interview session with the Royals. Recently, both shows got their own share of scoops when they had Kate Middleton's siblings as guests on their respective shows.
Pippa Middleton was featured for Todays show for an interview with host Matt Lauer earlier this year. Witnessing the success of the show, the management of Todays is even trying to rope in Pippa to become a correspondent for their show. Pippa may join the crew as soon as she has reportedly given a test shoot as well.
On the other hand, Good Morning America invited James Middleton, the younger brother of the Duchess for a candid chat show where he revealed that they are quite a close knit family with frequent meals relished together.
The Royals are expected in New York City in the next month. They reportedly will not bring the young Prince George along and he will remain back in the UK. The Royal couple is expected to visit all the famous hot spots of the city along with a trip to Ground Zero.
