Kate Middleton Proves She is No Spendthrift [PHOTOS]

Despite being labeled as the 'discount duchess that she is, Kate Middleton showed up in a dress and coat that she have previously worn before at Zara Phillips and Mike Tindall's weekend wedding.

The Duchess of Cambridge made a fashion faux pas during last week's wedding between Zara Phillips and athlete Mike Tindall, wearing a couple of ensembles that she has already worn before. First, the Duchess appeared in the same coat she donned for the 2006 wedding of Laura, Camilla Parker Bowles' daughter. Then, she was seen in the Diane Von Furstenberg green dress she wore during the royal couple's California visit. Was the Duchess' repeat too soon?

Etiquette consultant Sindy Martin suggests that the Duchess is not as "cheap" as the tabloids are labeling her to be. "Kate is considered a "New Age" Royal which sounds much more polite than the "Royal Recycler" that tabloids are calling her," says Martin in a report by Digi Triad. "She is from the generation that cares about the environment and being sensible" continues the etiquette coach in the same report. Martin also suggests that it is "okay" to repeat outfits, as long as the time frame and event is appropriate.

"Do not wear the same dress to several events that the same people will be attending. Yes, it is perfectly ok to wear the same outfit to different events. We can take the same dress and wear different jewelry, belts, scarves and shoes to make it a completely different outfit" adds Martin in the same post. Martin also adds that what the Duchess has done made her more relatable and "real" than ever. "I believe she is sending the message that she is just like us which is very welcoming at this time in history where so many are struggling" ends the personality coach in the same post.
