Kate Middleton Surprises 10-Year-Old Girl with Personal Letter [FULL LETTER and PHOTOS]

The Duchess of Cambridge showed a softer side again when she replied to a gushing 10-year-old who wrote to her in July after watching the royal wedding.

When fifth-grader AnneMarie Mantei sent a letter to the Buckingham palace because of her admiration to the Duchess, she did not expect a reply. Just for the fun of it, the young girl composed a handwritten letter, telling the Duchess about her family, her hobbies, and asking if the Duchess had particular hobbies and sports.

When Mantei picked up the mail on her way home on Oct. 31, she did not realize anything out of the ordinary. It was truly a shock for Mantei's mother, Joyce, who found out that the letter had a stamp of the Buckingham palace on Oct.31.

"Oh my gosh, AnneMarie, you got a letter from Kate Middleton!" recalled the mother once she saw the stamp and the royal logo and stamp on the envelope. According to AnneMarie, she "started to cry" upon finding out that the Duchess actually took the time to respond to her letter.

"I started to cry. I didn't want to open it, just tear it apart, so my mom got a letter opener. When I first read it, I said, 'Oh, my gosh, I can't believe this is happening to me!" exclaimed the girl in a report.

The letter was written by the royal secretary in behalf of the couple, answering questions that Mantei asked the fashionable Royal.

"The Duchess of Cambridge has asked me to thank you for the lovely letter... in which you wrote so enthusiastically about your family. In answer to your questions, she does sport... and took part in hockey, table tennis and netball at school. The Duke and Dutchess of Cambridge were immensely touched that you could take the trouble to write. Their Royal Highnesses wish to send you their warmest thanks and best wishes," writes the royal secretary, Mrs. Claudia Halloway, in the priceless mail.
