Kate Middleton A Wardrobe 'Hoarder,' Her Strategy To Avoid A Fashion Stampede From Fans -- Report
Kate Middleton is said to be a "hoarder" when it comes to her clothes. It's believed to be her strategy so other women won't be able to copy or get the same clothes she wears during public appearances.
According to Mail Online writer Claudia Joseph, the Duchess of Cambridge is a "great wardrobe hoarder." Joseph claims Kate Middleton waits years until she wears the clothes she buys. This is reportedly why she can hardly be seen sporting a new outfit and would rather resort to wearing outdated fashion items. "Hoarding' is now a deliberate strategy by the Duchess, who is keen to avoid causing fashion stampedes," Joseph said.
According to Joseph, fans were frustrated that they couldn't buy what Duchess Catherine wore to the Christmas Day 2014 service at Sandringham. Apparently, the £685 double-breasted Turpin coat was clearly out of fashion since Kate Middleton allegedly bought the warm coat from British label Moloh two years ago. Moloh owner Caroline Smiley supposed the Duchess of Cambridge "likes the idea" that the clothes she wears are no longer available for purchase in the shops when she decides to wear them.
This is reportedly not the first time Kate Middleton has decided to wear outdated wardrobe items. According to Joseph, the Duchess of Cambridge has made it a practice to buy clothes and then wear them at a later time to avoid running into other women wearing the same outfit. So she would supposedly prolong wearing the clothes, waiting for months, or even years, before finally wearing her purchases. Mail Online has all the photos showing all the details on these said purchases.
For instance, she waited two years before wearing the Blue M by Missoni coat dress she bought in 2010 to the Fortnum & Mason in March of 2012. Likewise, it took four years before the Duchess decided to wear Reiss' £139 blue "Trinia" dress in Ipawich, in March 2012 after she bought it in the autumn of 2008. According to Claudia Joseph, Kate Middleton "does not inform the designers when - or if - she will be wearing their outfits and pays only once she has worn them."
Regardless, hoarder or not, Duchess Catherine recently grabbed the number one spot for being the most stylish British woman of 2014 in. She outranked other renowned style icons including Victoria Beckham, who came in second. The poll, according to British site Scotsman, was commissioned by the beauty Web site feelunique.com. A spokeswoman claimed Kate Middleton never fails to impress people with her wardrobe choices during public appearances.
