Kate Middleton Wears Alexander McQueen Number For Commonwealth Day Service
Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge looked pretty in pink as she attended the Commonwealth Day service at Westminster Abbey on Monday. Kate and her husband, Prince William joined the Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Charles and Duchess of Cornwall Camilla Parker Bowles for the ceremony. It was the couple’s first service at the Abbey. Held on the second Monday of March, it is a multi-faith service of the Commonwealth of Nations headed by the Queen.
There were a plethora of cameras at the gate of Westminster Abbey to catch a glimpse of the duchess and her maternity style. Known for her impeccable style, the brunette was dressed in various shades of pink from head to toe. Her Alexander McQueen pale pink coat dress got everyone talking, according to E Online.
Kate is also known for reusing her designer dresses. This time too it was the same case with her Alexander McQueen coat. Kate sported the dress for the second time, the first time being when she was pregnant with Prince George in June 2013 at the Trooping the Colour in London. The royal who is in the 8th month of her pregnancy is due to give birth in April. This is one of her last official engagements after which she will go on a maternity break.
The coat dress features oversized pearl buttons and a Peter Pan collar, which gives it an elegant look. The duchess paired the pastel ensemble with a brand new nude Jane Taylor bespoke straw hat with silk straw twist. The hat is from the designer’s Millinery collection and is made-to-order. Kate made heads turn with the unusual design of the headgear.
Her love for Jane Taylor hats is evident once again as the 33-year-old royal had worn a bespoke petal cocktail hat with intricate lace details at the Trooping of Colour in June, 2014. The duchess also donned a hat from the designer’s Spring Summer 2014 Fleur collection at an official visit to Belgium last year. In October last year too Kate sported grey-silver velour felt Lupin hat from the label’s AW14. She then accompanied Prince William for a ceremonial welcome to the president of Singapore and his wife to London. The hat was an elegant tear-drop beret with delicate rolled organdy.
For Monday’s service, Kate accessorised her look with a Prada satin clutch and a pair of Prada satin high heeled shoes. She wore a simple Kiki McDonough hoop earring. Her make-up was flawless with some nude toned blush, nude lipstick and kohl eyeliner. Kate’s brunette tresses were kept loose over her shoulders.
