Princess Diana's engagement ring is once again the focus of the news, as it was the chosen ring of Prince William when he proposed to Kate Middleton in Kenya, Africa. But the engagement ring does not belong to Prince William.

Apparently, Princess Diana's ring belongs to Prince Harry who chose it from the things of the late Princess of Wales to remember his beloved mother when she died thirteen-years ago.

So, how did Prince William's choice of engagement ring for Kate Middleton sit with Prince Harry? Followers of the royal romance could be assuaged that the younger British monarch had agreed with his brother William, that whoever is to get married first should use their mother Princess Diana's ring.

Prince William had earlier explained his choice, saying that it was his way of making sure that her mother was involved in his engagement. The British monarch knows how important his mother's ring is both to him and his brother, and the public.

"I had been carrying it around with me in my rucksack for about three weeks before that and I literally would not let it go, everywhere I went I was keeping hold of it because I knew this thing, if it disappeared I would be in a lot of trouble and because I'd planned it, it went fine," Prince William said during his announcement of his and Kate Middleton's engagement.

Princess Diana's ring has a high sapphire surrounded by diamonds. It was her ring of choice when she was engaged to marry Prince Charles, the crown prince and father of Princes William and Harry.
