Kate Middleton is married to the royal family of Britain, but that doesn't stop her parents to promote a purely American holiday of Thanksgiving to Britons on their business website Party Pieces. Kate's parents, who run an online business of party supplies advice Britishers to decorate their homes using bright colours like red, orange, yellow and gold for the Thanksgiving party. The decorations should show an American theme with "stars and stripes" in it, says the Middleton family adding that Britishers should celebrate this day with enthusiasm.

Though Thanksgiving is a purely American holiday just like Fourth of July, the Middleton family does not see any wrong in celebrating it in Britain and give some tips to the fellow Britons and "American expats" on their website's blog The Party Times. The Middletons believe that the holiday which comes at the end of November has "become synonymous with spending precious time with friends and family to give thanks over a meal."

The website ask the parents to rope in the children of the house to help them in decorating the dinner table, asking the guests or relatives to tell the host what they are thankful for before the big Turkey meal begins and also take a "long walk" after the meal.

The family then encourages the readers of the blog to purchase their stuff from a section of their website but not before they dish out a few details about what the Britons need for decoration. "Add leaf hanging decorations, helium balloons or paper pompoms and a Give Thanks banner if you like. This is an American holiday after all, so add a few decorations in the stars and stripes," reads the blog.

The Middletons also advise Britishers to catch a movie with their family at home or play a board game as catching up on a game of American football is nearly impossible. "Home-baked gingerbread or choc chip cookies" have been advised as items to be served to British kids during the American holiday. The party supplies of their website ranges from turkey-printed paper plates to sophisticated gift boxes which can be used to pack the leftover dinner for the guests. The website is run by Kate's parents Carole and Michael Middleton.
