Kate Middleton's Pregnancy: Duchess ‘Attacked’ By Feminist Writer, Claims Second Pregnancy To Soon
While Kate Middleton is missing royal engagements because of pregnancy sickness, a feminist writer has reportedly taken the opportunity to "attack" the Duchess' second pregnancy and her purported role as a member of the royal family.
According to Inquisitr, Kate Middleton was described by Germaine Greer as being a mere "product of the royal playbook." In an interview with Newsweek, the 75-year old feminist claimed the Duchess of Cambridge cannot be spontaneous when it comes to what she says or do since it will only get her into trouble.
"She has learned what she has to do and say and how to do and say it in the approved way," Greer said.
Greer is apparently trying to show just how much of her personal choice of actions the Duchess can reveal. Her freedom is reportedly limited that she can't even decorate her own house. The author of the best-selling book "The Female Eunuch in 1970" claimed it's "anachronism" that Kate Middleton should be treated this way since even the U.S. First Ladies reportedly get to have a say on the White House décor.
However, Germaine Greer also complimented the Duchess for being "more intelligent than the rest of the royals." But her 2.1 honours degree from St Andrews University is reportedly useless since she is made to look like a complete "anodyne" by the royal family. But Inquisitr claims not everyone agrees with Germaine Greer's opinion of the Duchess. Caroline Watson, director and co-founder of Progressive Women, described Kate Middleton as representing a new era in the royal family.
"We have seen change in terms of the royal family in recent years, and I think Kate represents a different era, but she hasn't spoken," Watson said.
This is not the first time Kate Middleton has been attacked by one of the most controversial feminist voices in the mid-twentieth century. Daily Mail claims Greer once described the Duchess as being overly thin. Her weight should supposedly be a sign that she shouldn't have any more babies. Thus, she claims it's too soon for her second pregnancy. Now she had to suffer from Hyperemesis Gravidarum again, diagnosed with extreme vomiting, which she experienced when she was pregnant with Prince George. She hopes that after the second pregnancy, Kate Middleton would finally stop having babies.
