Kate Middleton nearly had her "Marilyn Moment" when she attended a forum for the charity she is attending.

While she is still officially on her maternity leave, the Duchess of Cambridge nevertheless attended the forum held at St. Edmund's School in Tower Hamlets organized by Place2Be, a school-based mental health charity where she is one of the patrons.

She attended the forum dressed in a jacket by MaxMara and a skirt by Orla Kiely, the same designer who made the bird-print coat she wore last Monday. Kate completed the look with suede pumps, gloves, clutch and tights, all in navy blue, and a pair of pearl drop earrings from Annoushka.

But as she bends down to receive a posy from a child, strong winds blew off her skirt and nearly lifts it up. Fortunately, the Duchess was quick to hold it up to avoid a wardrobe malfunction.

Various sources suggests she should take a cue from Queen Elizabeth and have curtain weights sewn on the hem of her skirts and day dresses to avoid similar accidents.

Place2Be is a charity that offers mental health services for children suffering from distress and abuse due to bullying and family breakdown. The services are being offered to more than 200 schools in United Kingdom, including St. Edmund's School where the forum was held.

"Life can be tough for children for all sorts of reasons - from entrenched issues such as neglect and abuse, through to facing family breakdown and loss - and it's critical that children have someone to turn to, who will listen," says Benita Refson, chief executive of Place2Be during the forum.

Kate herself was reportedly a victim of bullying, as she was forced to transfer schools after two terms in a boarding school in Berkshire. She arrived in Marlborough College during the middle of the year, and according to a close friend from the school, "(S)he had been bullied very badly at her previous school and she certainly looked very thin and pale, with these large, dark rings round her eyes. Although she wasn't unfriendly, she had very little confidence."

The "Marilyn Moment" is in reference to a scene in the Hollywood movie "Seven Year Itch" where Marilyn Monroe's white dress was blown upwards as she stepped into a subway grate.
