Sports Illustrated Cover Girl Kate Upton has reportedly broken up with her beau, Maksim Chmerkovskiy.

E! Online reported Upton and Chmerkovskiy split after six months of dating. The cause of the break up was the long distance relationship. Apparently, the couple did not get to spend a lot of time together. Both have been busy with their own respective careers. The former couple lives apart from each other. Upton lives in New York while Chmerkovskiy resides in Los Angeles.

A source, who was a close friend of the former couple, told E! Online that the relationship between them never really meant to last long. "It was never really that serious," the source said.

The source revealed that Upton and Chmerkovskiy were amicable after the separation. "There's no hard feelings, I'm sure they'll remain friendly," the source added.

Now that Upton is back in the market, it will be in no time before guys start lining up to date her again. It's really a big deal now that Upton is single. Will she start dating again or will she remain single for the rest of the holidays?

Hollywood Life reported that Upton wants a guy who has a good sense of humor. "I like to laugh," Upton said.

"I like to have a good time, I don't like to be so serious about things," she added. "So I would want a guy who would want to laugh and have a good time, too," she shared.

Meanwhile, Upton will star in the movie "The Other Woman", which also features Cameron Diaz, Nicki Minaj and Leslie Mann. It is a story about three women teaming up to conspire mutual vengeance on a rampant adulterer. It is set for release on April 24, 2014 in the U.S. This wouldn't be the first time that Upton will star in a movie. She has already starred in the movie, "The Three Stooges," where she played a nun. She also had a small role in the movie, "Tower Heist."
