Katherine Heigl shares that she's hurt over Shonda Rhimes' recent interview where she touted Katherine as "nasty." The former "Grey's Anatomy" star shares that she would have the chance to change her image on Rhimes' eyes.

In an interview with Mario Lopez, the "State of Affairs" star shares that she was hurt that Shonda Rhimes told Hollywood Reporter in so many words that actresses "like her" or "Heigls" are not allowed on the set of "Scandal." The actress also felt bad that Shonda said she does not put up with "nasty people" anymore, somehow pertaining to her. It could be remembered that she irked Shonda back in 2008 when she pulled herself out from Emmy consideration while on "Grey's Anatomy" and complaining that she did not receive good material that season to warrant such a recognition.

She now tells Lopez that she wishes she would have the chance to change her negative image in the renowned showrunner's eyes. "I am sorry that she feels that way and I wish her nothing but greatness and I have nothing negative to say about [her]," she said. Stating she's a big fan of Shonda's work, especially "Scandal," which she watches every week, added that she's sorry that Shonda is "left with such a crappy impression" of her and wishes that she could do something to change this impression. She added that maybe she would be able to in the near future.

The actress added that she had to do so much to prove that she's not the diva that everyone thinks she is. She told Lopez that it took a lot of time to digest that she has a negative image. However, she is also aware that she cannot change anyone's image of her except to prove it wrong. "And the only way to prove it wrong is for people to have a work experience with me that doesn't speak to that at all," she stated.

It seems like she wants to start proving people wrong with her new NBC show, "State of Affairs," where she is also partly a producer. She told Lopez the job is a blessing to her as she gets along very well with the crew. Ironically, the show is about politics, which the actress shared she has no idea of.
