Comedienne Kathy Griffin is not backing down from calling Bristol Palin the "white Precious," comparing Palin to the 350-pounds African-American protagonist in the film.

The Life on the D-List star went on Chelsea Lately to defend her remarks after detractors said she was bullying the Sarah Palin's daughter with her fat jokes.

"There's a big difference between being a comedian and bullying. It's our job, it's what we do," said Griffin.

Kathy found an ally in the Chelsea Lately host Chelsea Handler with the latter concurring tha tthere is a difference in terms of targets.

"You're absolutely right," said Handler, who recently figure in the news after calling Angelina Jolie a "homewrecker."

"I don't take anything I say seriously....Bullying is being a bully to someone who's defenseless, a poor little person who's done nothing wrong, not the people who are a--holes."

Griffin performed at the VH1 Divas' Salute the Troops special wearing only two-piece bikini. The comedienne then told audience that Bristol Palin was the only Dancing With the Stars contestant to have gained weight during the competition.

"She's the only contestant in the history of the show to actually gain weight," Griffin said. For that, the audience shouted their disapproval with a notably loud "boo."

But Griffin went on, despite the negative cheering.

"No, come on, come on. She gained like 30 pounds a week, I swear to God, it was fantastic...She's like the white Precious," said Griffin.
