It has been only five married years, but just like the first two ex-wives of Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes is giving up on the relationship. Aside from the rumoured reason of wanting to come back to acting, there is also the controversial issue of Holmes not wanting to stay long within the principles of her popular hubby's religion, Scientology.

The former 'Dawson's Creek' star filed divorce last June 29 and aims to get the sole custody of their child, Suri. According to reports, the young actress depended on her family to help her out in leaving. Holmes' father and the rest of the family helped in gathering up enough evidences and information that can put Cruise's credibility at risk since the time he became a scientologist.

According to a former member of the religion that has a lot of high profile members especially in the Hollywood industry, the chances of Tom getting custody of his daughter is very small.

"Katie's family has information that Tom probably wouldn't want released to the public," Marty Rathbun, the ex Scientology member said. "I did audit sessions with Tom Cruise from 2001 to 2004, and I can tell you that I have a friend that has been providing Katie Holmes' family information for years about the iron grip the Church of Scientology has on Tom Cruise's family and professional life," he added with his interview with Radar Online.

With Tom Cruise all busy with his schedules shooting for a new film after his recent 'Rock of Ages,' his daughter with Holmes was often seen crying and throwing heavy tantrums. According to another source, the two parents have never been one in their views on parenthood.

It was just recent as well that Holmes was seen less stressed looking around New York but without her wedding ring around her finger.

As with her plans to get back to acting work, many critics advice that she pick the most interesting film projects to work. Her rise to fame being once a wife to popular actor Tom Cruise can serve as rightful vengeance for her to get the most of the attention now that she has bravely filed for divorce.
