Katy Perry announces 'WITNESS: The Tour' 2018 in Australia
Katy Perry has announced the “WITNESS: The Tour” 2018 Australian leg. The US pop star will perform in Australian cities including Perth and Melbourne in July and August 2018. Tickets will go on sale starting on Wednesday, July 9 at ticketek.com.au. Read on to learn more about it.
Perry’s tour in Australia, which aims to promote her fifth album “Witness,” was posted on her official website and Twitter page. Myer will be the principal sponsor of the Australian leg of the pop star’s world tour. “Myer is thrilled to be the principle and naming rights partner of Katy Perry’s National WITNESS Tour,” Richard Umbers, Myer Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Managing Director, said on Friday. “Katy is one of the most exciting and engaging global stars and we are so excited to be partnering with her to create a unique experience for Myer customers.”
“WITNESS: The Tour” in Australia will kick off on July 24, 2018 in Perth. Listed below are the other tour dates in the Land Down Under.
July 24, 2018 (Tuesday): Perth Arena
July 30 (Monday): Adelaide Entertainment Centre
Aug. 2 and 3 (Thursday and Friday): Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne
Aug. 8 (Wednesday): Brisbane Entertainment Centre
Aug. 13 and 14: Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney
“The response we received from the 2014 tour was phenomenal with Katy performing a staggering 23 shows across the country,” Paul Dainty, TEG DAINTY CEO and President, said. “Katy is one of the most powerful entertainers in the world and I am delighted to be promoting her 2018 Australian tour.”
“WITNESS: The Tour” will start on Sept. 7 at the Schottenstein Centre in Columbus, Ohio. After that, the tour will proceed to Canada from Sept. 9-13. Then it will go back to the US on Sept. 16. It will go to several states including New York, Pennsylvania, California, Nebraska, Missouri, Oklahoma, Indiana, Georgia, Florida and Michigan. It will also travel to other countries such as Belgium, France, Italy, the UK and Sweden. Perry’s 2018 tour in Australia will be the last leg of “WITNESS: The Tour.”
“Witness” debuted at number two on the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) Charts. The 15 songs included in the album are “Witness,” “Hey Hey Hey,” “Roulette,” “Swish Swish” (featuring Nicki Minaj), “Déjà V,” “Power,” “Mind Maze,” “"Miss You More,” “Chained to the Rhythm” (featuring Skip Marley), “Tsunami,” “Bon Appétit” (featuring Migos), “Bigger Than Me,” “Save as Draft,” “Pendulum,” and “Into Me You See.” Perry is currently in Australia not only to promote the “Witness” album and tour, but also to perform a song from the latest album during “The Voice Australia 2017” Season 6 on Sunday, July 2 at 7 pm on Nine Network.
