A new year just started but pop singer Katy Perry has a lot of things to keep her busy and to keep her mind off the divorce issues.

"Teenage Dream" singer kicked off the New Year as a single girl. Last Friday, former love Russell Brand had filed for divorce after 14 months of marriage to the singer. While gossip sites and shows are treating the news like a sensation, Katy Perry remained mum about the whole issue.

Perry was not spotted anywhere since the divorce filing broke out, but she will be definitely busy over the next few weeks. Later this month, Katy will hold a performance in Jakarta, Indonesia on Jan. 19 and in Manila, Philippines on Jan. 22 as part of her "California Dreams Tour."

In February, Perry is set to attend the Grammys, where she is up for two awards, including Record of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance for "Firework."

It has been two years when Katy Perry released her megahit "Teenage Dream" album. However, according to a report of MTV.com, producer Tricky Stewart said that Katy will be working on the release of some older material, including a track entitled "Dressing Up."

Perry has not announced plans to tackle any more acting roles. However, last year, she made fans laugh on the big screen as the voice of Smurfette in "The Smurfs" and as the host of "Saturday Night Live" in December, teasing a possible second career in film and TV. She also spurred some controversy upon appearing in Sesame Street with popular character Elmo.

Russell Brand said in his statement that, "Sadly, Katy and I are ending our marriage. I will always adore her and I know we'll remain friends." However, the singer made no comment regarding this statement.
