The much-admired couple of Hollywood has spilt, yet again, according to reports. Grammy winning singer Katy Perry has reportedly broken up with her singer boyfriend John Mayer.

"Dark Horse" singer Katy Perry dumped "Your Body is Wonderland" singer John Mayer "within the last few days," revealed a source close to the couple to E! News. Not much has been revealed about the cause of their split but it is said that the big decision was "forthcoming."

The report about musician couple's split emerged amidst their engagement rumors. Katy Perry first instigated engagement rumors when she was spotted with a ring on her ring finger at the EMAs in Nov. 2013. Prior to this, in Oct. 2013, it was reported that the couple's engagement was on the cards.

Last week, another set of rumors began to swirl around when Perry was spotted with huge diamond ring on her left ring finger on the red carpet of Elle Style Awards in London. It was also reported that Katy Perry's pastor father would officiate the wedding ceremony.

Katy Perry's and John Mayer's sudden split amidst engagement rumors have caused quite a stir in the media, leaving their fans in shock and everyone else wondering. The unanticipated breakup of the couple has fueled rumors and speculations about the cause of their break up. Us Weekly report claims that "multiple sources" have confirmed couple's decision of split up.

Web site claimed that it was Katy's upcoming Prismatic tour stressed her and "they've been fighting."

"Not sure how long it will last this time but yes, it is off for now," one source revealed to Us Weekly explaining about Katy Perry's and John Mayer's split.

"It is probably for the best, because she is going to be on tour for forever" revealed another source to Us Weekly.

It was also noted by E! Online that Katy Perry has been seen unaccompanied over the past few weeks while John Mayer remained absent. Songstress' boyfriend John Mayer was missing from Katy's BRIT Awards performance and Milan tour.

The couple officially started dating in the summer of 2012. Recently, they released romantic duet titled "Who You Love." Katy Perry, 29, and John Mayer, 36, reportedly spent Valentine's Day together in LA. However, it would not be the first time when they would have broken up with each other. On-and-off couple took a short break in March 2013. Soon after, they reconciled and became one of the most adored couple of Hollywood.
