If you remember Katy Perry during her "California Girl" days, then you would probably disagree with her latest statement about how "she doesn't have to get naked to get noticed."

The "Roar" singer does actually acknowledge the fact that she did become a sex symbol during her "Teenage Dream" days but has finally made sure to focus more on her music than on getting naked for her fans.

The singer spoke out about this in her latest interview with NPR, which can be read at E!Online.

"I do see myself becoming this, whatever, inspiration out of default right now because it's such a strange world. Like females in pop - everybody's getting naked," Katy Perry said.

And like mentioned, the singer does acknowledge getting naked and using her body to gain attention. "I mean, I've been naked before, but I don't feel like I have to always get naked to be noticed. But it's interesting to see," Perry stated.

Perry isn't particular dissing on anyone in particular in the music industry, though she does point out that this is a statement for all the singers who always try to get naked in order to get noticed.

The singer is finally maturing, and she does say that she knows she can be sexy. So trying to be sexy all the time is getting a bit tiring and she wants to be an inspiration to her fans.

You go Katy Perry!

There are a lot of singers that rarely try to get naked all the time but are well known because of their music, like Britney Spears and Beyonce. Okay, Britney is known because she certainly can perform and Beyonce because she can sing and dance as well. They, too, have gotten sexy but never to the point of always trying to get naked in front of the camera, and they are now legends to their fans.

Katy Perry seems to understand that getting naked can only take her as far as how naked she gets but showing pure talent will allow people to appreciate her talent and who she really is! You go Katy Perry! Roar!
