Is Katy Perry becoming a thorn in the much anticipated reunion of Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart? Buzz has it that Pattinson is giving immense support to Perry since the latter separated from John Mayer.

Pattinson and Perry have always been close pals. The "Teenage Dream" singer stood by the side of "Twlight" actor when he had a much public break-up with Kristen Stewart. Pattinson is now returning the favor to Katy. However, the reports also suggest that there are chances of something getting developed between the two friends.

"Rob has made [Katy] promise to count on him for support, like she did for him when he split for Kristen Stewart," a source told OK! magazine.

"The question is, how much comforting will go - they always had this really flirtatious relationship," adds Hollywoodlife.

Both Perry and Pattinson have been busy with their professional commitments, Perry with her Australian tour and Pattinson with his new film titled "Life." The so-called friends have recently got a little time from their professional commitments and have reportedly met up.

"He's already proving to be a total rock for her," the source added regarding the friendship.

Katy Perry and Robert Pattinson share a very strong chemistry. The harmony between them was evident in the leaked tape, which showed the couple singing with each other. Sources have even claimed that Perry is so shattered right now that she can hook up with any one. She apparently thinks that Rob would make an excellent boyfriend for rebound.

"She has joked that Rob would make an excellent revenge hookup! They do have a wonderful friendship, and they trust each other. No matter how down she is, Rob can always make her laugh, and she loves that," a source revealed to the Web site.
