Katy Perry reveals the one thing she hates about dating Orlando Bloom

Katy Perry’s romance with British actor Orlando Bloom could be in the fast lane to trouble as the singer admitted she is having a hard time coping with their long-distance relationship.

Speaking to Women’s Wear Daily, the 31-year-old pop star lamented over the long drive from her home in Los Angeles to Malibu, the beachside town where her 39-year-old beau resides.

“My boyfriend lives in Malibu, and getting used to that [drive] was like, ‘Are you kidding me? What kind of life is this?’” she told the outlet on Monday.

The “Rise” singer, who is a native of Santa Barbara (a city just a little over an hour drive from Malibu), went on to say that as she found herself driving to her man, she also found herself making more trips back home.

“There’s no pop-over and I never really got used to Malibu ‘cause it’s halfway to Santa Barbara, so I’m always just going to Santa Barbara then,” Katy explained. “I get the whole ‘coming to L.A. and living by the beach’ thing. But it’s really like, it’s so far, nobody [who lives in town] is going to come see you.”

Despite the singer’s wish for a shorter commute, she shared to WWD that she and Orlando have struck a balance when it comes to making time to visit each other, further revealing that the “Pirates of the Caribbean” actor has even visited her hometown before.

The pop star also shared that Orlando was surprised to know that she used to live in “the poorest part of Santa Barbara.”

“Actually my boyfriend didn’t even believe me and I was like, ‘I’m going to drive you by my house’ and you can Google Earth it,” she said.

Basing on how their eight-month relationship is progressing, Katy’s trek to Malibu doesn’t seem to be a deal breaker as a source revealed that the pair have already been discussing about marriage and children.

“They are in love and happier than ever. [Orlando] would like to get engaged to [Katy] before the year is up,” the insider told E! News. “[Marriage and children] is something Katy has always wanted when she met the man she was ready to settle down with.”

The pair have been dating since hitting it off at the Golden Globes Awards in January. Before their romance, Katy had an on-and-off relationship with John Mayer before calling it quits for good in 2015. Prior to that, the pop star was married to Russell Brand from October 2010 to July 2012.

The British hunk, who recently created a media frenzy when he paddleboarded completely naked during an Italian vacation with Katy, was previously married to Aussie model Miranda Kerr until they divorced in 2013. They share a five-year-old son named Flynn.
