Katy Perry and Russell Brand in No Hurry on Having Kids
Singer Katy Perry and comedian Russell Brand have been married for almost a year now yet they are in no hurry having kids of their own. In the October issue of InStyle, Katy opens up about what she is thinking before hitting a highly photographed event, her future plans, her singing and probably her acting career in the near future.
Katy's career, however, is always in overdrive these days. The "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)" songstress has had five number one hits on the Billboard chart which is the most for a woman to ever achieve since Michael Jackson did it. She has also taken home countless honors like the coveted Video of the Year Award at last month's 2011 MTV Video Music Awards. While it might look like the fun-loving star has lucked into her success, Katy admits that she is actually very ambitious and she is not always as carefree as she seems. "I kind of use this inner dial: Either I turn it up or down," the 26-year-old reveals to the magazine.
"I'm not going to sit and be steamrolled," the singer confesses to the magazine. "I am full of unicorns and Care Bears 99 percent of the time, but don't open Pandora's Box of that other 1 percent because it's there," she further added.
It appears she does not have any plans to slow down any time soon. The star married comedian Russell Brand in October 2010 but she admits that they are in no hurry to add children to the family. "Not yet," Katy says. "I think if you're married, it's often in your future," she added cryptically.
Katy Perry's better half, Russell Brand, has said he and Katy Perry have a rule that they will never spend longer than two weeks apart. The showbiz couple apparently found it hard to see each other given their busy schedules. "We are separated a lot but we don't ever go more than two weeks without seeing each other. We've got that little rule sorted," the British comic explained. "Obviously, it's not ideal, but I've met somebody I've fallen in love with. She's a pop star and it's going to be difficult. I've just got to accept it," Brand further added.
