After being cut from Sesame Street, Katy Perry bagged a role in the perhaps less-child friendly but more cleavage accomodating program of The Simpsons. Perry will reportedly appear in a Christmas episode where Bart Simpson and his family will be transformed into puppets!

Perry will appear as herself in a rare live action sequence where the pop singer leads The Simpsons cast in a spoofed rendition of The 12 Days of Christmas. Fans of Katy Perry will be delighted with the news, after the pop star was cut from the premiere telecast of Sesame Street's 41st season.

Perry found an ally in The Simpsons, after being pulles from the children-show due to negative response to her wardrobe choice (it shows her cleavage) for her guesting in Sesame Street.

"In the wake of Elmo's terrible betrayal, The Simpsons puppets wish to announce they stand shoulder-to-shoulder with Katy Perry,"Al Jean, executive producer of The Simpsons, told Entertainment Weekly.

Last weekend, Katy Perry took to Saturday Night Live to parody her being cut from the premiere episode of Sesame Street. In a video clip of her appearance, Perry appeared in a red shirt with the profile of Elmo, with her much-fussed over cleavage freely shown in the kiddie show.

Sesame Street announced that it shut down the appearance of pop star Katy Perry after considering feedback from parents. Apparently, Perry's costume that shows the singer's cleavage did not sit well with parents as appropriate for the children show "which was aimed at pre-schoolers."
