Katy Perry's "California Gurls" wins on Teen Choice Award
Katy Perry's "California Gurls" went home with the Choice Music: Single and Choice Summer Music: Song awards from the 2010 Teen Choice Award held last Sunday night. The summer hit was subject to controversy after The Beach Boys' record label has "reportedly filed a diminutive claim against the writers and publishers of pop songstress Katy Perry's omnipresent summer hit "California Gurls" for its purported similarity to the group's 1965 anthem "California Girls."
The pop star also hosted the award undergoing six costume changes all through out the ceremony which was held at Los Angeles' Gibson Amphitheater.
On other news, the runaway winner of the Teen Choice Awards were vampires. The 'Twilight Saga' dominated with a total of 11 prizes at the ceremony, including Choice Movie: Liplock for Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart's kiss in 'The Twilight Saga: New Moon' and Choice Movie: Chemistry.
