Katy Perry's "Prism" v/s Lady Gaga's "ARTPOP" : Which Album Would you Buy? [PHOTOS]
Katy Perry has surpassed queen of bizarre Lady Gaga on Twitter in terms of fan following. But does that mean that her upcoming album "Prism" will also be much ahead in sales than Gaga's "ARTPOP." Only time will tell as both albums are expected to release this fall.
Perry has reached a whopping 40.4 million followers on Twitter and it makes her most followed woman on the social network closely followed by rival Gaga. However the most followed personality of Twitter still remains none other than Justin Bieber, who has close to 42.8 million followers!
After a lot of hits and misses on release date, Lady Gaga has earmarked Nov. 11 as the release of her upcoming album "ARTPOP." The singer has gone to great lengths to promote the upcoming single "Applause" by running a countdown on Twitter, by donning a prosthetic arm and even by going stark naked! The single will release on August 19.
Lady Gaga's last studio album "Born This Way" was in 2011 but the singer has never failed to remain in news either by her outlandish outfits or by making controversial statements on Twitter against Russian government.
Gaga has also released an ARTPOP app free for her fans on Google's play store and Apple's iTunes. The fans can buy her single "Applause" from both the stores and also pre-book for the album ARTPOP beginning September.
In comparison, Katy Perry's album will be released a little earlier on Oct. 22. It will be her third album and the first single "Roar" is due for release on August 18 (again one day ahead of Gaga).
The "California Girls" singer released a picture of the very unique and fresh artwork for her long awaited single "Roar" on Twitter on Thursday. The singer is seen wearing a dark blue jacket with a lion embossed on its back side. The singer looks very toned down with black hair and pick lip color.
Perry's last album "Teenage Dream," was hugely successful and garnered five No. 1 singles including "California Girls," "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)," "Firework" and "E.T." The only other artist to accomplish this level of success was Michael Jackson, according to Billboard.
So whose album would you buy? Katy Perry or Lady Gaga?
