'Keeping Up With The Kardashians' season 12 news: Now that Lamar Odom is well, Khloe refiles divorce; here's why
Original air date on E!: May 29, 2016
Lamar Odom is finally healthier, thus prompting Khloe Kardashian to pursue her previous plans of divorcing him. The Kardashian family is reportedly glad that Khloe finally finalized the divorce after the former NBA star collapsed.
Previously, Lamar, 36, suffered a collapse at a brothel in Nevada due to a drugs and alcohol binge, which compelled Khloe, 31, to pause her plans of divorcing him. She only wanted to help her estranged husband fully recover. Now that Lamar is better, Khloe has again filed the divorce papers and is ready to move on with her life.
Mirror writes that Khloe felt at peace with her decision to finally divorce Lamar. She was happy to have offered both emotional and financial support. Now, she feels that it is time to focus on her life and building a family, apart from the former Laker.
One insider said that Khloe always planned to proceed with the divorce. Although it was momentarily recessed due to Lamar’s health condition, Khloe was only waiting for the right timing to call off their marriage.
Another source said that Khloe took care of Lamar out of love, but is already prepared to move on with her life alone. She now wishes to focus on her own happiness.
TMZ says that Khloe told Lamar that she needed to end their marriage, because she wants to have children. Khloe clarified to her family and friends that she was not in a romantic relationship since she filed for divorce in December 2013.
In 2009, Khloe and Lamar wed after a whirlwind romance. Khloe filed for divorce after four years when she discovered that Lamar cheated on her and took illegal drugs. The reality TV star cited irreconcilable differences as the main reason for their divorce. She hired attorney Laura Wesser to help handle her case. Khloe and Lamar do not have a pre-nuptial agreement, but they have already arrived at an agreement regarding their properties. They are now waiting for the divorce to be legally finalized in six months, which is the law in California.
More updates and details on Khloe and Lamar’s divorce are expected soon. "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" airs on E! in the US. It also airs on E! Australia.
