Kelly Clarkson is pregnant with her first child. Clarkson announced on her Twitter account yesterday, "I'm pregnant!!! Brandon and I are so excited! Best early Christmas present ever :)."

Kelly Clarkson got married to Brandon Blackstock last month in Tennessee. Before getting engaged last Dec., Clarkson dated Brandon for nine months.

Unlike other celebs, Kelly did not made a big deal out of her pregnancy. We are truly impressed by how she quietly announced the delightful news on Twitter. Last week when Kelly was asked about her notion of pregnancy at "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno", she had coyly replied, "We're not announcing anything right now."

Clarkson has been eager to start a family since she got married Brandon. She told Leno that she can't wait to have her first child. "[We want a baby] now!" she crowed. "Practice makes perfect! We're trying, trying, trying ... Like rabbits!"

Kelly is already a mother to Brandon's two kids from his previous marriage. Regarding this she told Leno, "We have two kids. And they're so great. And I never wanted kids before, but now I want, like, five."

It seems becoming a step mother to two kids intensified, Kelly's desire to have her own child.

Also, a week ago, Kelly lost her beloved dog Joplin. He was apparently her soul mate and she was so saddened by his death that she broke into tears while performing at the Hard Rock Cafe for the Musicians On Call benefit concert.

After Joplin's death, Kelly had tweeted, "My best friend died yesterday. Joplin was special. He fought his whole life to survive and now he can rest. I loved him."

Now that Kelly is pregnant, we hope it will help her move forward from Joplin's death. We wish luck to Kelly and Brandon for their first child.
