Kelly Gale gets her proverbial 'baptism of fire' as she walked down the glittery runway of the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show last Wednesday at the Lexington Armory in New York.

But moments before her first walk as a Victoria's Secret model, the half-Australian half-Indian model appears to be nervous as she quietly fiddles on her phone while she had her hair and makeup done backstage.

The 18-year-old model tells NY Daily, "These are girls I've only seen on television!" as she refers to veteran models Alessandra Ambrosio and Adriana Lima.

The Sweden-based model also shares her prep work prior to the show. "I've been boxing, cycling... working out two and a half hours per day since August."

During showtime, Kelly wore a lingerie set in black and white print, paired with black fringed corset, leather gloves, turquoise blue and a headband with musical detailing, which the site Go Fug Yourself describes as 'clearly from the 50 Shades of Grey collection.'

She may have only one notable appearance in the fashion show, but this is certainly not the last, as fans of both Kelly and the brand can expect more from her in the years to come.

Kelly has been rumored to join the annual fashion show ot the lingerie brand ever since her recruitment to the Victoria's Secret's roster of models and her appearance in the casting video for the fashion show released November 7. She then joins fellow Aussie VS model Jessica Hart, Maryna Linchuk, Izabel Goulart and Elsa Holsk in the lineup of models who will appear in the annual fashion event.

Her stint in Victoria's Secret is a dream come true for Gale, as she tells Women's Wear Daily in an interview last year how she wanted to become a model for the brand. Her family also appears to have given their blessing for her appearance as she indicated in the same interview that she has to discuss with her father on the matter.

Kelly was scouted in Sweden when she was 13 years old while hanging out in a cafe. Prior to her VS gig, Kelly has appeared in numerous magazine editorials and ad campaigns, notably Teen Vogue, H&M and Vogue India. She also walked the runway for Chanel's pre-fall collection last year.
