Kelly Rowland broke down while performing on stage. The former Destiny’s Child singer felt so overwhelmed by her emotions that she had to stop singing for a while and gather herself together.

In the fan video on YouTube, the 32-year-old songstress was performing her new single “Dirty Laundry” at the Filmore Silver Spring in Washington, D.C. on Sunday when she suddenly cried.

She was casually dressed in black top, white shorts, and black boots while sitting on a stool onstage as she sang for her fans. However, when she gets to the ling “Turned me against my sister,” she choked up and stopped before she bent over and cried.

Fortunately, her fans were supportive, cheering her on until she composed herself and continued her song.

“Dirty Laundry” is about Kelly’s past abusive relationship and her jealousy of an unnamed sister, who is rumoured to be Beyonce, her former bandmate who is unquestionably more successful than her.

Its lyrics include:

“While my sister was on stage, killing it like a mother*****
I was enraged, feeling it like a mother******
Bird in a cage, you would never know what I was dealing with
Went out separate ways, but I was happy she was killing it
Bittersweet, she was up, I was down
No lie, I feel good for her, but what do I do now?

“I was battered
He hittin the window like it was me, until it shattered
He pulled me out, he said, ‘Don’t nobody love you but me
Not your mama, not your daddy and especially not Bey
He turned me against my sister
I missed ya”

After Destiny’s Child disbanded in 2005, Beyonce’s fame skyrocketed, while Kelly’s fizzled. She had released her solo album “Ms. Kelly” in 2007, and ended her professional relationship with Matthew Knowles, Beyonce’s father who had managed her career since Destiny’s Child.

“Dirty Laundry” is the second single off her fourth studio album “Talk a Good Game,” which is due for release on June 18.
