Kendall Jenner Opens Her New York Fashion Week Stint With Diane Von Furstenberg Runway Show
Kendall Jenner is making a real name for herself in the fashion world by making a mark at the 2014 New York Fashion Week. The reality TV star turned high fashion model opened her Fashion Week appearances by gracing the catwalk at the Diane Von Furstenberg show.
The spring 2015 collection showcased by Diane Von Furstenberg was Kendall's first appearance of many in this week's spectacular fashion event. Kendall is now clearly out of her famous sisters' shadows as she is able to make a name for herself in the world of high fashion. On the catwalk, Kendall wore her dark hair loosely around her shoulders. She walked the runway in a black and white printed dress which was very casual and youthful.
Proud mom and manager Kris Jenner posted a full body photo of Kendall taken from the Diane Von Furstenberg runway. She captioned the post: "So beautiful today @kendalljenner walking in the Diane Von Furstenberg SS15 show!! #NYFW @DVF@Dianeloves #SS15 @Edward_Enninful@PatMcGrathReal @CheriseBowen @JohnDavidPfeiffer"
Kendall had been working as a professional model for the past couple of years after gaining popularity through the family's reality TV series "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" and its various spin-offs. Despite being part of a celebrity family and having stars like Kim, Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian backing her up, Kendall has not always had things served up to her in a silver platter. In fact, it was quite the opposite for her. When she started her modelling career, Kendall shared on various occasions that she felt like people didn't want to give her jobs because of her name. She felt like people thought she wasn't ready to do the work and was just banking on her family name. Kendall is also the daughter of gold medal-winning Olympian Bruce Jenner and has lived almost her entire life in the spotlight.
After the initial struggle, Kendall seems to have proven herself as a runway model and has walked on shows both in New York and in Paris for brands like Marc Jacobs and Chanel. In this year's New York Fashion Week, she has already been spotted on the Tommy Hilfiger, Donna Karan and Polo by Ralph Lauren Shows.
