Kendall Jenner Turned Down Offer To Become Victoria's Secret Angel
Kendall Jenner has been highly speculated to become one of the Victoria's secret models for the upcoming season following her successful stint with recent runway shows. However, when the official list of Victoria's secret angel came out, her name was found missing along with top model Cara Delevingne.
It is now revealed that Jenner herself turned down the Victoria's Secret angel offer and pursued an opportunity to be part of a Chanel show instead. As per New York Post, Jenner and Delevingne both willingly opted out of Victoria's Secret show to model for Chanel.
The Victoria's Secret team had been reportedly quite keen to rope in the reality TV personality and upcoming top model for their forthcoming show in December. Since the two events are going to be held at around the same time, Jenner opted for Karl Lagerfeld's team and model for Chanel instead of going for the Victoria's Secret offer. The same decision was made by Delevingne.
Lagerfeld will present his Métiers d'Art collection at the Hotel Schloss Leopoldskron in Salzburg, Austria on Dec. 2, which falls on the same day as the Victoria's Secret Angel Show in London. The clashing of the dates of two of the world's biggest fashion shows has pushed Jenner and Delevingne to opt out of the Victoria's show.
An insider revealed that both Jenner and Delevingne were in demand by both top brands due to their curvy and attractive figures. "VS looks for curvier girls and bigger names," the insider told the New York Post. "For most models, you either fit into one category or another." The two reportedly opted to walk for Chanel as the brand's reputation is unsurpassable.
Recently, the younger step sister of Kim Kardashian was in the limelight after her recent successful stunt during the New York and Paris Fashion Week. Jenner reportedly distanced herself from the family's reality show because it was shadowing her talent as a model, as told by the Mirror.
However, becoming a Victoria's Secret angel has been one of the biggest dreams of the 18-year-old reality TV personality. Her breakthrough in the high fashion world came when her mother and manager Kris Jenner introduced her to Victoria's Secret photographer, Russell James, last year, as told by the Mirror.
