Kendrick Lamar Talks About Collaboration With Taylor Swift Plus Rapper And His Crew Shoot The Paparazzi At LAX
The Generational Icon Award winner Kendrick Lamar on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” talked about her collaboration with Taylor Swift on “Bad Blood.” Also, he and his crew film the paparazzi back at LAX.
Lamar was featured in Taylor Swift’s hit single “Bad Blood” as Welvin Da Great. During the interview, he said that Swift reached out to her for the collaboration.
“I've always been a fan of hers, and she was a fan of my music and she reached out and we got it done,” Lamar said on the show (via Eonline).
Lamar appeared on the star-studded music video along with Karlie Kloss, Martha Hunt, Cara Delevingne, Selena Gomez, Lena Dunham, Ellen Pompeo, Jessica Alba and many more. The video was a smash hit on YouTube as it was viewed more than a million times in a day.
The rapper also talked about the recent Generational Icon Award and he said that the award means everything to him. “Because I know there's a lot of kids in my neighborhood that are watching TV and saying 'You know what, I want to be a positive influence just like Kendrick Lamar, or whoever is out there doing something for the good’.”
During the interview, DeGeneres also talked about Lamar’s Compton roots and the rapper talked about how his parents influenced him. He said that his parents taught him to do things in the right way using his influence irrespective of it being positive or negative.
Meanwhile, the photographer named Charlie of TMZ saw Kendrick Lamar and his crew at LAX and he tried to ask a question. Instead of replying to him, Lamar and his crew members started filming him using their camera phones. Also, Lamar told Charlie that he spotted Schoolboy Q and asked him to catch up with him.
