Kensington Palace has announced that the Duke of Cambridge, Prince William, will be recording a speech about wildlife preservation, which will be aired on Chinese television. The prince aims to address illegal wildlife trade and discuss urgent means to combat such practice.

As part of a series of program called “Let’s Talk,” Prince William will address China’s largest audience in his speech about wildlife preservation through CCTV1. According to a press statement released by Prince of Wales.gov.uk, the Duke of Cambridge will film his speech in mid-October in London before it airs on Chinese television.

In his speech, the Duke of Cambridge will “explain how people around the world must work together to save some of the planet's most critically endangered species before they are lost forever." Prince William reportedly "considers this issue an important test for his generation's ability to solve the much more complex global challenges it will face in the decades to come."

It was said that Prince William received encouragement from the President of China, President Xi Jinping, to talk about wildlife preservation with his country when he discussed it with him during their meeting in Beijing earlier this year. It’s reported that China has given their full support to the Duke of Cambridge in his efforts to find ways to combat illegal wildlife trade.

Kensington Palace initially announced Prince William’s wildlife speech on Chinese television on its official Twitter page.

According to People, Prince William’s speech will be aired around the same time of Xi Jinping and his wife Peng Liyuan’s visit to London.

Prince William and his brother Prince Harry has been a loyal wildlife preservation advocate. Together with the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, they set up the United for Wildlife campaign in 2013. On its official website, the campaign says it works to bring all the leading wildlife charities together for one common purpose, which is “to create a global movement for change.”

In a statement shared by the site, Prince William says he is “proud to be involved” with the campaign that aims to “prevent critically endangered species from being wiped out.” The Duke of Cambridge also encourages people to work together in preserving “these animals so that they share our world with future generations.”
