Kerr Again Queen at Kingsmill
Cristie Kerr was crowned LPGA Kingsmill Championship winner for a third time after beating Suzann Pettersen in a sudden death play-off.
Overnight leader Kerr, who also won the event in 2005 and 2007, carded four birdies and two bogeys in a 69 to finish with a 12-under-par 272, but Pettersen forced the play-off at the River Course after carding a four-under 67.
The 35-year-old Kerr then missed a five-foot birdie putt on the first extra hole at the 18th to claim the win and then hit her second shot to about 20 feet from the cup. When Pettersen's third shot stopped 15 feet short of the pin, Kerr put her second putt in to secure her 16th career LPGA Tour title.
"It's the first time my dad got to see me win, so it's really special for me," said Kerr. "I wasn't going to lose, not today, not with my dad here."
Thai teenager Ariya Jutanugarn, who started with an opening round of 64, secured a share third place with Ilhee Lee after finishing with a 66 for a 275.
Angela Stanford carded a 69 while American compatriot Stacy Lewis closed with a 70 as they finished fifth while world number one Inbee Park was sixth after 67.
