"Scandal" star Kerry Washington and her husband Nnamdi Asomugha are allegedly on the verge of a divorce. A recent report claims that just after a year of their marriage the award winning TV actress has been spending time away from her NFL player husband. The report hints at the impending split.

Fans know that Kerry Washington has been very private about her relationship with Nnamdi Asomugha. A source told OK! Magazine that despite their one-year-old marriage and a baby, the "Scandal" star "spent very little time" with Nnamdi Asomugha.

It is noted that Kerry Washington "rarely talks about her marriage" and prefers keeping it a secret. The source reveals that such a "secrecy may be for good reason."

The report also cites Kerry Washington's 2013 interview with Glamour magazine. In the interview, the actress explained how she likes to keep her relationship under the wraps and that she would "continue to not talk about it."

Meanwhile, Hollywood Life claims to have dug deeper in order to find out the truth behind the rumours about couple's split reports. An unnamed source reportedly denied the divorce rumours suggesting the story is "further from the truth."

A source told the aforementioned celebrity news and fashion publication that the split is "not happening."On the contrary, the couple is "excited for the holidays." Meanwhile, the source assures that there is "no drama in their lives."

Kerry Washington and Nnamdi Asomugha got married on June 24, in Blaine County Idaho. Few months after, the couple was blessed with a daughter they named Isabelle Amarachi. While Kerry Washington is a Golden Globe and Emmy Award winning actress, Nnamdi Asomugha was a San Francisco 49ers cornerback. Though he switched to acting and launched his career with an appearance on CW's "The Game."

This is not the first time the couple has been slammed with split rumours. Earlier this year, Terez Owens claimed that Kerry Washington and Nnamdi Asomugha's marriage is an arrangement and that the "Scandal" actress is actually NFL star's "beard." The report notes that Nnamdi Asomugha is "gay" and has "slept around a lot."
